My Approach & Values

Katie Forbes, Founder and Director of Autistic Flair

Living in a world designed for non-autistic people, autistic people face more barriers to education and employment than their neurotypical peers. This has led some people to believe autism is a deficit, leaving many autistic individuals ostracized from our wider society.

Having overcome countless barriers to independent living and employment, I am passionate about destigmatising autism and making positive change for the autistic community. I aim to do so by improving autism understanding and acceptance, and providing guidance on how to best support autistic individuals so they can meet their full potentials.

How we can support you

Autistic Flair started as an online community and resource hub dedicated to improving autism understanding in our wider society. The organisation amplifies autistic voices so people can learn about autism from real experiences.

The company has evolved and now offers services to businesses looking to improve autism understanding and create autism-friendly environments where autistic people can thrive – not just survive.

Championing positive language

Much of the autistic community see their autism as a fundamental part of who they are and are championing positive language.  Autistic Flair aims to provide a safe and inclusive space, where autistic people are celebrated and valued for who they are.

Autistic Flair supports autistic people of all ages, regardless of whether they have a formal autism diagnosis or not.
